APPLESEED EYECARE is a home grown collection of optometry practices around Fort Wayne & Northern Indiana communities. With the involvement of practices dating back to the 1970’s, we have made it our mission to provide excellent eye care and products in each of our offices. When it came time to choose a name for Our Brand that was fitting of our mission and history, we realized we had many things in common with Johnny “Appleseed” Chapman. Similar to Chapman, we are dedicated to our calling in our profession & serve our communities with love & compassion. Our mission is to preserve & enhance the vision of those in the communities we serve while striving to emulate Christ’s compassion, humility & integrity in all relationships.
With homegrown doctors and team members, we love our communities & our team is committed to giving back to our communities in different ways throughout the year. Just as Johnny Appleseed planted his famous apple seeds across the Midwest all those years ago, we too, hope to continue his work in sowing good works in Northern Indiana. We will do this by first providing outstanding eye care to all who step inside an Appleseed Eyecare office.

Dr. Myra Weber
Dr. Weber graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2009. She has lived and practiced in Fort Wayne for the past 13 years. She enjoys taking care of patients of all ages and really enjoys building relationships with patients.

Dr. Michael Bangert - Retired
Dr. Bangert started serving the Fort Wayne community over 40 years ago. After graduating from Indiana University School of Optometry Doctor Bangert opened his practice dedicated to providing excellent patient vision care.

Dr. Megan Schlipf
Dr. Megan Schlipf, a born and raised Hoosier, received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Indiana University where she completed external internships focusing on dry eye disease, ocular disease, pre-operative and post-operative care, and primary care.

Dr. Rod Kaufman
Dr. Kaufman is an Optometrist in Syracuse providing complete eye care services for the surrounding communities. Dr. Kaufman graduated from Goshen College in 1983 and from Indiana University's School of Optometry in 1986.

Dr. Darren Minnich has been in private practice since 1996. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University College.
